The Lithium Team Takes A Chance: A Playlist

For this issue, I wanted to hear from the Lithium team and create something that they all had a share in-- a playlist. Music and what it means to someone can reveal a lot about them, and in doing this collaboration, I learned a bit about the team. I hope this is as special to you as it is to me.

"What's it Gonna Be" by Shura
"Drive it Like You Stole It" from Sing Street
“Both are very spontaneous, and the latter exemplifies that the most. They both sound like the 80's, which I love.”

"Loose Lips" by Kimya Dawson
“It talks about making your job a vacation and surviving trying times and starting again. The song reminds me that even though life isn’t easy, it’s okay to make mistakes.”

"PERFECT" (ft. Kali Uchis & Austin Feinstein) by Tyler, The Creator
“When I hear the lyrics to this song, it talks about the possibilities, feelings, and outcomes you can get from taking a chance. When we are deciding whether to take a risk, we always hesitate or second-guess. We go back and forth weighing all the options and this song just compels me to just take the risk and embrace whatever fate it gives me.”

"With Me" by Sum 41

"Chance" by Blood Orange
“Honestly, the lyric ‘All I ever wanted was a chance for myself’ is the daily thought I have in my mind. Whether I'm happy or sad, it's always that thought in my head. When I listen to this song for a moment, I feel calm and believe I can make it.

"The Youth" by MGMT
“I think it emanates love and kindness; the beat of the song is so uplifting and the words make me feel so proud to be a part of this generation, as though we can do anything in the world.”
