Transparency in Social Media: A Lookbook

As seen in this lookbook, I've designed and sewn together an outfit that speaks to the idea of access and transparency within social media. Before creating this piece, I chose ten different categories of information ranging from very basic things like name and age to more personal topics like religion and sex life. I then "internet-stalked" several different people to try and find as much information as possible about these different topics. It was interesting seeing the differences in how much people shared on each topic and how each person defined their own social media spaces in their own way. Throughout this process, I realized the power that people have to display themselves on social media; also, no matter how much information someone places on their social media profiles, those profiles will never completely define the person behind the screen.
