Clothed in Light

Sun-splattered cheeks
hot rays through thick jeans
calloused hands
feel rough asphalt
brush aside stray hairs
lean on tired knees

Brown eyes watch curiously
observing, discerning
finding beauty
between brick buildings

Clothed in light
full of laughter
a sticky, slow summer
everything is gleaming
and more than it seems

- there is warmth in the air and warmth in her heart
