Home Changes: Life in the LGBT Community

Home has always been changing. Coming from a family with four other siblings, we come and go all the time. There's never a constant. It's hard to find a place to fit in as I try to squeeze into the cracks of validation and attention— not to mention struggling with my own identity for the past few years, which just screams disaster. However, I've been picking up the pieces. I've grown closer and closer to family members and been more open. I feel so much more seen now. But, I am by no means done. I have so much more growth left. I know it.

I created this self-portrait to show my feelings behind this. My home and my family have always been such an essential part of my life; showing some of the deepest parts of myself has been the most vulnerable yet rewarding experience of my life.
