Los Angeles: A Hidden Conflict



This picture tells the story of an Aztec chief and dancer performing in Olvera Street, Los Angeles. What makes this picture special is that he's doing this in an area that is predominantly inhabited by Spanish people. The Spaniards conquered the Aztecs a long time ago, yet here they are still, performing their dance and rituals. They are performing in a square that pays homage to Spaniards that killed many Aztecs, as you can see in the statue in the background. To me, this image says revolution
