Generation Z: A Poem About Gun Control

We hold up our heads high and our signs even higher
Advocacy trumps apathy
Action gains traction
Until justice is met to our satisfaction

Now is the time rally
Our lives won’t become another tally
On a list of bodies buried too soon
We won’t become immune to massacres occuring in classrooms

They may call us divisive
But we have decided
That we won’t be controlled
Forget autopilot

We stand up to the status quo
And let them know
It’s not 15 minutes

But the beginning of our show.
