Inner Light

1

I used to bend
For you until
I  b r o k e

Muscles tightened
Filling a mold
Human turned object

I might as well
Have been that chair in the corner
That was never used

Why did we even
Keep it
There?

2

Barriers
Constructed in the mind
Turned outward

Darkness consumes
M e like y o u
Once did

But shining lights
Lead the way
To warmth

Muscles loosen
Arms release their grip
Opening for embrace

3

I am of my own
G r o w t h
Here I stand for me

Leaves unfurling
To soak in the warmth
Of self-compassion

Reaching
Upward and outward
To possibilities

How beautiful
It is here
In my own light
