For decades LGBTQ+ individuals have been fighting to love who they want to love. Today, three years after gay marriage has been legalized across the United States, bigotry and hate still make LGBTQ+ individuals fear for their own safety. For many, pride provides a way to feel accepted in the midst of a hateful world.

Pride, in the context of this month, overwhelmingly refers to the feelings of being happy in who you are, and not afraid to show the world. The goal of this photo series is to capture the release that comes with pride. Being prideful in who you are is freeing and beautiful and vibrant and ethereal. This month embodies all of these feelings, and pushes the world to be a more loving, accepting place, because we all deserve to feel the happiness of pride.
