Hopeful Haze

Summer has always been my favorite season. Plants are in full bloom, trees are green, skies are blue, and the world is teeming with the energy of life. Everything feels so hopeful; free. This series was intended to capture the hope-filled haze of summer.

Shot with Polaroid Spectra film, the heat of the space we took these photographs in affected how they developed. One of the many things that I love about Polaroid film is the unpredictability; you never really know for sure what you are going to get. The initial shot you see through the viewfinder may be drastically different from what comes out. The final images ended up having a red-yellow tint, capturing the look and feel of a hot
summer’s day.
