Simplicity is Key

I often walk outside whenever I am having an artistic block. It helps to clear my mind. Our society tends to overcomplicate things, especially when it comes to things like makeup, clothes, trends, and Photoshop. But nature is one of the few things that reminds us that just because something is simple doesn’t mean that it is less. And as the notorious saying goes: “Less is more.”

This picture captures the essence of nature’s natural beauty. The significance of this is that you don’t have to try too much. You can take something that would seem mundane at first and make a couple of changes if necessary, and it will come out better than you except it to. Awakening can be defined as “an act or moment of becoming suddenly aware of something.” In the moment I was taking this picture, I had become mindful of that fact that my artistic block was only me blocking myself. This is an awakening for all of us. We all need a break from technology. Get up, go outside, and try to leave any devices inside. Forget everything else, and just enjoy the one thing we can’t get from technology. Peace and quiet.
