Shadow of the City Music Festival

The fourth annual Shadow of the City Music Festival took place Saturday, August 25, at Asbury Park’s legendary Stone Pony Summer Stage. Founded by New Jersey native Jack Antonoff, the festival boasted a diverse lineup that included a performances by Ex Reyes, Forth Wanderers, Clams Casino, Beach Slang, Turnover, Julien Baker, Hayley Kiyoko, and a headlining performance by Antonoff’s own Bleachers. $1 from every ticket was donated to Antonoff’s charity organization, The Ally Coalition, which supports homeless LGBTQ youth.

Everyone felt welcomed and at home, whether they were from Jersey or not.  In between sets, festival goers could participate in a Mario Kart tournament or try their luck at the dunk tank, which included a chance at dunking Antonoff himself. It was the perfect way to end the summer: hearing indie tunes in the sunshine, right down the street from the Atlantic Ocean.
